I've always enjoyed messing around with words. That's probably why I like writing poetry. Funny poetry mostly, but not always.

Tony Bradman put one of my poems in a book called Look Out! The Teachers Are Coming. It's called About Mrs Barry, by Sarah. You'll find it in Dinosaurs & Dinner-Ladies, too.

I often do a bit of poetry at some point during a school visit. People seem to like it.

In 2015 I was invited to help judge the Divine Chocolate Poetry Competition. It was great fun - and they gave me chocolate!!!!

I really like Divine - not only is it utterly yumsworthy; the people who farm the cocoa also own part of the company, so they get paid fairly.
