John loves to talk about his work and his love of reading! He's willing to consider all kinds of visits including, but not limited to:

• libraries
• literature festivals
• arts festivals
• teacher training colleges
• bookshops
• summer schemes
• writing camps
• secret volcano hideaways of evil criminal geniuses bent on world domination

Fee structure

Visits to teacher training colleges, summer schemes, writing camps etc. will be charged at the same rate as visits to primary schools. This is the Society of Authors' recommended minimum rate of £300 per day plus expenses.

Visits to libraries will be charged at a rate based on the Society's recommended rates but taking into account the length of the visit.

Bookshop events will be free of charge. This assumes that the visit will include no more than a reading or two and a signing session. Bookshops inviting John for a day of events and/or asking him to undertake a school visit as part of an event should expect to be charged accordingly.

It's been John's experience so far that festivals generally offer a reasonable fee as standard.

Evil criminal geniuses should expect to pay upfront, in full.

If you've got another sort of visit in mind, please take into account the Society's recommendations when proposing a fee.
